Fun Factoids

ISO is pronounced "eye-so" and is based on a Greek word "isos" which means "equal" - it is not an abbreviation for the organization which is the International Organization for Standardization - that would need to be IOS anyway!

The reason for the name ISO is it is the same in every language!

Organizations need more than three months of quality record documentation before having enough data to go for ISO 9000 registration - most organizations take around six to nine months to get ready for registration - and that is very fast-tracked!
